Student Posters!
I am so psyched for, and proud of, the students in my Vis Com class this semester at Cornish College of the Arts. They’ve been working hard for a few weeks on redesigning posters for the film “Children of Men”. We watched the film in class, (while eating delicious treats that they baked or prepared), then spent a couple classes talking about all the signs, symbolism, and metaphors within the story.
the group on movie day, with snacks:
Their challenge was to design a poster for the film without using any images of actors or scenes from the film. They were also urged to avoid any movie poster clichés, while still being required to include ALL of the film credits and info. Not an easy task! They all pushed themselves to try new things in terms of image-making, conceptual thinking, and the results are great. Again, I’m psyched and proud.
Well done, gang!
