I enjoyed this post by Mike Masnick, but I may have enjoyed the comments and his links more. Masnick makes it sounds like Girl Talk is luckylucky that he’s never been sued, butI thought Girl Talk gets around any lawsuits by not charging for his music. (No? I actually don’t remember where I heard that, so it probably is wrong.)
I’ve been looking at the recent wave of “collage artists” a lot lately, author David Shields and musician Greg Gillis among them, and it had never occurred to me that musicians get kinda screwed by that which protects them. hmm.
anyway, here ya go:
